Toronto Short Stays is a direct-to-host marketplace for furnished short and mid-term stays. The platform helps guests discover listings, send inquiries, and contact hosts. It does not process payment or guarantee a booking.
1. Marketplace role
The platform provides listing, inquiry, moderation, and trust tools. Hosts and guests remain responsible for confirming final price, availability, screening, rental terms, deposits, arrival details, house rules, and any agreement made between them.
No listing, badge, review, or verification status is a guarantee of legal compliance, safety, availability, or suitability.
2. Host obligations
Hosts must only advertise accommodations they have the right to market. Hosts are responsible for listing accuracy, photos, pricing, availability, building or condominium rules, lease restrictions, insurance requirements, tax obligations, and compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
Toronto short stays under 28 nights may require principal-residence compliance and STR registration. Hosts must provide the STR registration number and supporting documents where applicable.
Hosts may not self-assign protected trust badges. Verification, registration, fast-responder, featured, boosted, and similar marketplace badges may be controlled or removed by platform moderation.
3. Guest obligations
Guests must provide accurate inquiry information and must verify final terms directly with the host before paying a deposit, signing an agreement, or arriving. Guests should not send unnecessary sensitive information through inquiry forms.
Guests are responsible for complying with house rules, occupancy limits, building rules, and any agreement made with the host.
4. Inquiries, consent, and communications
When you submit an inquiry, you authorize us to share the inquiry details with the selected host so the host can respond to that specific request. This operational consent is separate from optional marketing consent.
Optional marketplace updates, saved-search matches, newsletters, or similar commercial messages require appropriate consent or another lawful basis, and may be unsubscribed from at any time.
5. Reports and moderation
Users may report inaccurate, unsafe, spam, legal, or policy-related listings. Report submissions may be rate-limited and duplicate reports may be consolidated. Public report tracking shows only a limited status such as received, under review, or resolved.
Platform administrators may approve, reject, request more information, keep a listing hidden as reported, dismiss a report, or add moderation notes. Internal moderation notes are not public.
6. Verification
Verification review may include identity, selfie or business verification, STR registration proof, and proof of right to list. Submitting documents does not guarantee approval. The platform may reject, revoke, or request updates to verification where information is incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent.
7. No platform payment and no guarantee
The platform does not hold deposits, process rent, escrow funds, or guarantee payments. Any payment arrangement is between guest and host. Users should be cautious about off-platform payment requests and should report suspicious listings.
8. Account and listing enforcement
We may limit, suspend, hide, reject, or remove accounts, listings, inquiries, reviews, reports, or messages where needed to protect trust, safety, legal compliance, platform integrity, or user experience.
9. Privacy
Your use of the marketplace is also governed by the Privacy policy, including how inquiry details, verification documents, report data, and consent records are handled.
